Philskate is now Pinoyskate

Philskate will now be PinoySkate effective October 7,2012.

This is due to that Philskate( http://www.facebook.com/PhilSkate?ref=ts&fref=ts) group of facebook is an entirely different group and is not associated with this blog. We will forego of the name(Philskate) and will give way for the group since they have been using it and made their identity long enough before this blog was made.

CoG - Center of gravity skatepark

Alas! the wait is over!

COG will be opening it's new skate shop on November 10,2012 at Eton Centris Walk,Q.Ave, Quezon CIty, well a new skate shop isn't a big deal anymore unlike the old days of the 80's and 90's.
What is more exciting is that aside from of the shop they will also be opening an indoor skatepark!
yeah you heard it a skate park for the folks of the North. The shop stands in the former place of Zongs and taste of Asia. Roughly the size of the park is a 4 restaurants that was put together.

Opening of the park is expected on October 12,2012

Friday skate session after storm "Marce"

After the storm "Marce" left the Phillipines, at last we were able to skate again. Everyone's feet is itching to get on their boards again and roll. At 3pm were already skating, setting up the obstacle, warming up, ollieing, flipping or whatever. We also had guest skaters from the Bagong Bario crew of Caloocan that day(such cool guys! so much bag of tricks yet humble).

All were on hot skate level, that our sessions usually ended up by 6:30 but t'was already 8pm when we ended.

The day was crazy, all are crazy we were experimenting on the obstacles(I still don't have much of the photo's but will post it soon)

Circa: 2000-2004

This was our spot a decade ago, the plaza of Malabon City.( Malabon was not yet a city back then)
smooth ground, no cracks, no deformations on the floor. No irritating kids borrowing your boards.
Once a playground of the veteran skaters of the 90's and early 2000's.

The stage behind is a waist high drop. A good spot throwing down your flips!

 After the rascals put up that basketball court and the place was not skateable for months because of the "tambays."
